Victory is mine! For the princely sum of.....wait for it.......£3
I managed to pick up a kids pair of size 2 1/2 moc croc wellies because they're so wide across the foot I managed to get my usual size 5 feet into them and I even have enough room in the calf to get my hand down there. Sadly not from a nationwide company I can share with you all but from a local retailer called Gillivers near Ashby de la Zouche in leicestershire. I'm sure you can get these in boring black too from Ebay or Shoezone so may be some use to those butch men out there with muscular calves. My teenage daughter is mortified though and refuses to walk anywhere near me when wearing them!
------------- If you have a problem stressing you, sort it. If you can't, there's no point worrying about it coz it won't make a blind bit of difference!!!! Jules
Hope this isn't too late in the conversation but thought you might like to know that I got a pair of half price Joules wellies this summer. They are knee high, a lovely design and with plenty of room at top with extra width given by a good adjustable strap on the side. I was delighted to find them as like you I've found it REALLY hard to find wellies that would fit me...
Just out of interest I'm imagining if anyone has a problem with getting wellies, you might (like me) have had a problem too with finding normal knee high leather boots to fit around one's calf. I've just found out about the website www.duoboots.com. They have a fantastic variety of leather boots which are made specifically to fit both your shoe size and your calf size. Brilliant! Fingers crossed Santa might buy me some.
