do I need a special ice-cube tray to get ice cubes then?
Also is it ok to use a 2 way splitter - so the gas cooker & fridge are both connected at the same time?
If so how long do you reckon a 907 butane gas bottle will last, will be using fridge all the time off it & cooker in morning to cook brekky & also about 3 times in the day to boil kettle to heat up baby bottles.
just got back from holiday and packed the fridge to the top and it all kept all nice and cold not a problem at all.
regarding the splitter we tried it on holiday and it wasnt a problem at all as long as you get some hose clips to put on the pipe it didnt cause a problem.
we ran a 4.5kg bottle off ours and we were there for 7 days with running the stove off it 2 times aday and a BBq once a day and we still have some gas left for a couple of weekends.
You say you ran it off a 4.5kg bottle, was that butane or propane?
We have a 907 butane camping gaz bottle, not sure how much they hold as it's in the shed & its peeing it down so can't be bothered to go & look - anyone know?
Dunno, is that the thing that converts the gas into the cooling bit of the fridge, or it could mean the regulator? You would have to check with company.
the gaz camping bottle is slightly smaller and lighter than the caloer 4.5kg but has roughly the same amount of gas in and should last the week (7 days) if you are using it on your fridge all day every day and if you are using your stove as well.
have just got this info from a gas supplier down in hampshire hope this helps.
We bought our Sibir last year & it's excellent. When really packed it keeps the food really cold & as said before freezes well.
We found the first couple of times we used it the smell was awful & like you concerned with young children. But the smell did go, but it was awful at the time. I'm sure you'll get lots of good use out of it!
It does seem really good, when we used it with the gas, but we only had a few things in it - beer, beer & a bit more beer!! cause we had a bbq on the day we bought it so thought we would try it out as we wanted to run down our gas bottle as we knew it was fairly empty.
people keep saying you can get ice cubes from the back shelf, have you done this if so do I need a special ice-cube tray to get ice cubes then?
what sort of bottle do you run it off, 4.5kg or 907? do you just have the fridge attched or do you use a 2 way splitter.
sorry for all the questions
