1. Double Aerobed (I'm good for nothing if I don't get a good night sleep)
2. EHU (Can't camp without an electric supply - see below)
3. Dyson Air Multiplier (Cools if too hot and warms when cold)
4. QVC Portable Induction Hob (There really isn't an easier way to cook - I even have one at home now and use it in place of my hob)
5. Mini Fridge (Must be able to keep those drinks cold!!)
I use a Decathlon Quechua BS 4.2 (pagoda style) or a Vango Icarus 500 or a big canvas frame tent depending on the trip.
My top 5 apart from the tent and in no particular order:
1) decent bed, whatever combination of Sim/Campbed, real duvet or sleeping bag, real pillows or travel pillows, this is a trial and error exercise and will be different for everybody. I like Sim/Campbed with XL sleeping bag and real pillow.
2) Secure chair, nothing flimsy, I find that a solid armed chair is more comfortable to get in and out of.
3) A Coleman mini table. I reviewed it here -review
4) Night time loo. I have a Kampa Khazi which is good but I hanker after the Kampa Portaflush 10 which is the most compact of the flushing type loos I can find online.
5) Tarp and two poles- so adaptable as a rain or sun shelter, windbreak, wood pile cover, night time camping chair cover, and clothes line if it's just the poles and guy rope being used.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
