The taste of my coffee would be spoilt by the knowledge that I am producing unnecessary plastic waste by using a plastic pod based machine.....

Enamel coffee pot with Also French Blend ground coffee. 3 teaspoons per warmed up pot then filled with just off the boil water. Delicious. Add warmed milk and froth op extra warmed milk with a little battery powered whisk thingy to add on top after sugar to taste. Could drink all day. Easy to make in tent or caravan and no complicated percolators or other gadgets to clean. A few pots but there all. Well worth the effort. I find it a very relaxing ritual

Me too - - we use a Philips Senseo machine and the little bags go in the compost afterwards. The only downside to the machine is that our favourite bags for it can only be bought in France. We do, however, buy quite a lot of it whenever we are there.

I love my stainless steel insulated cafetière, and I take ready ground Colombian coffee. Unbreakable, keeps hot, and Tesco sell them. Tesco double-walled 8 cup cafetière £20. I use it at home and camping.

My husband has a delonghi magnifica. Bean to cup. Not the most expensive or fancy but he's had it 10 years so good quality. When it goes (which he's been hoping will be soon for years!) he will be getting a separate grinder and brewer which is the next level apparently

We have the same machine which we bought several years ago! Excellent machine and would definitely recommend although I am not sure if you can still get it.

+1 for the stainless steel cafetière.
I also use a Rhinowares mini grinder http://rhinowares.com/rhinowares-hand-grinder.html, although cheaper, unbranded grinders with very similar ceramic burrs are also available.
