Hi to you all thanks for the info on these lamps/repellants ordered two and got two on the /BOGOF deal seem to be great little things ... how do you raise the wick as it burns down also did anyone get repellant mats with the lamp or are they not included with the lamps in the offer as on the web site and the packaging it says you get mats included??
You'll discover that as long as you keep the wick moist ( always replace the rubber bung) and never burn dry, then the wick will not burn down.
6 Mats are included with each lamp and according to our records you were sent an extra box of 30 mats as opposed to 24 loose ones (you will have received 5 boxes instead of 4).Any other problems / queries please come back to me on mdh at clearlitelamps.com
although we didn't have much of a midge problem this year the tent did attract miscellaneous flying things.. in particular 'daddylonglegs'. I know it was a bad year for them.
do these lamps repel more than midges ?
I think they are presently restricted for repelling midges, but did contact Clearlite on this as we were besieged by wasps this year! Response was that they are currently developing a mat which will repel larger flying insects, so I will be first in the queue for that!

I've just made a purchase...however after confirming the PayPal transaction I got redirected back to the Clearlite website BUT got a HTTP 404 error:-
This error (HTTP 404 Not Found) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but the page you wanted was not found. It's possible that the webpage is temporarily unavailable. Alternatively, the website might have changed or removed the webpage.
Anyway, if you're about Mr Clearlite please could you confirm that my order was successfully received.

Not sure what caused the webpage redirection error but it seems to only effect returning to our 'Home' page. Must confess it's all slightly 'white mans magic' to me but hopefully getting it sorted now by our site provider.
We have 112 remaining and will be keeping the offer open for a little bit longer -so please tell a friend.
Just one little query which I think may have been covered already: Tent manufacturers tend to lean towards advising not using Insecticide type sprays etc in Tents (something to do with damaging the Nylon). Does the Clearlite fall into this, or can it be used inside the tent/gazebo safely ?
the insecticide is absolutely safe as tested and ratified by the Health & Safety Executive - who give us a unique approval number HSE8091. You will find it on all our packets.
woo such a great deal i just put an order in for a couple they are just waht i want for my camping trip :) i go that http redirect problem also but am reassured now after reading thsi post. cant wait to get em and try em out :) now off to sit beside the door and await delivery :)
