Does anyone have a list of the average amps used by camping equipment?

I'm looking for a simple list to avoid calculating each item.

Think is more to do with Watts.  Somebody will put you on the right track but roughly Volts x Amps = max wattage

So a 10amp hookup on 240volt will allow 2400wattage items to be attached at any given time (MAX!)

Hi Sharon,It can get confusing at times but I go on the assumption that a 10amp supplies 2300w, gives a little leeway if it is 2400w as was suggested.Just to give you an idea of what I use:-

Fridge(on all the the time) 65w

Combi TV 80w

Halogen Heater 400/800w

Toaster 800w

Kettle 750w (not home kettle too high w)

Mini Hob-large ring 1500w/small ring 1000w (not on together)

Mini Table top Oven  620w

As an example if I have on at the same time Fridge,TV,kettle and small ring that totals 1895w well within the spec of 10amp supply.

I am assuming that you have an EHU? You need to get one if not, you need to be sure that your unit is protected if using Leccy.

On the other hand you may be using Gas for cooking in which case you have much greater flexibility. The choice is yours, whatever you decide, enjoy it!!!!

Thank you for your help, thats great. We have ehu and it is running the fridge, hot water and heater, so i just want to work out what i can run at any one time. At the moment i dont run the heating at the same time as the hot water to allow for tv lighting and everything else!! the gas stove heats the camper up anyway!!!
