We use a Gelert - can charge it at home and it easily blows up 4 single and 1 double airbed before recharging - link here

Tesco 12v pump for approx £7, but i was really interested about the towsure extension - pumping up the Coleman double comfort with one corner of it in the car cos the lead wasnt very long tested my patience! Bed still went up in less than 5 mins though!

We have one of the double action hand pump ones and the yellow cigerette lighter ones.  We tend to prefer the hand pump as it seems to go up faster.  We once had to use the cigerette one late at night, about 11pm, due to a puncture in the airbed.  You don't realise how noisy they are until you're trying to be quiet!   Fortunately we have a big car as we blew it up in the car to deaden the noise.  In the end the blasted thing had more than one puncture anyway.

i don't know if it was us or the bed or the pump but when my son lent me an airbed it took forever to inflate with a footpump.. and then i accidentally let it down again in the night :(

i read somewhere that someone had arrived at a site with the incorrect nozzle for their new mattress and couldn't use their new power pump .. so

i bought a campingaz mattress with a campingaz rechargeable pump. The pump cost more than the mattress but i love it

I bought a Hi-Gear battery pump specifically, then realised the compressor I had in the boot for the car tyres had all sorts of adapters and does the job faster. I guess when it rains, I'll use the battery one, but for now, with the good weather the car tyre inflator works best
