I got my fishing pole from a car boot.  You could always look on Freecycle to see if anyone has an old pole they don't need.

Linda, you had to go and ask.  I just spent £21 of OH money for pole & accessories for daughter's numerous windsocks.  At least she will be able to find our tent from 5 miles away, not that she will be out of my sight for a second!!
