Hi

Can anybody recommend a starter kit for tent camping? Currently we have:

Tent, sleeping bags & lamps. That's it!

Does anybody have a list of essential items that would keep a family happy & fed for a week's camping? Like everybody, we'd like to travel as light as possible. Our party consists of Me, Hubby, 5 year old & 3 year old. Possibly our small dog on some trips too.

Gas cooker and gas bottle (we take a spare but you don`t need to).

Fold up chairs and small table or one of those fold up table and chair sets, they fold down very small and flat.

A cool box.

Sleeping mats or airbeds.

Pots/pans/plates/cups/bowls/cutlery/cooking utensils.

Microfibre towels.

Wash up bowl to carry pots back and forth to sinks in plus all stuff needed to wash and dry pots.

I think those would be the basic items, then you can add to them as you deem fit.

We're off for our first camping trip at the end of the month - Sunrise Celebration festival. So far only spent one night in tent - in our garden!
