Hi. I have read some of the advice in this site and rekon the best bed to buy for arthritic and achey bones is the Coleman Comfort. Is this what it is actually called? I have had all the problems talked about in this column with my cheappie airbed. Chilly. Damp. etc. I intend to insulate under the airbed with either a shiney metalic mat or picnic mat and put a fleece between me and the airbed. I just wondered if there is something newer on the market or if someone had any further advice before I purchase. I think my body need something with a bit of support and I read that blowing up the Coleman to its full capacity is best. Thanks Louise
The 'Coleman Comfort' is probably the most comfortable air bed around, but with 'back problems' you might still find it difficult to get up from the low position... An 'X' leg camp bed (available from most camping shops) with an 'Airic' self inflating mattress on top might be better for you (you'll be about 20" off the ground)... The 'Airic' mattress (www.alpkit.com) is quite firm (especially if you give it a little 'help' with a pump) and very comfortable too... The bed & mattress together will cost about £47 or so, but you will get a good nights sleep and that's priceless!...
