Q1: How does the Campingaz 907 compare to a 4.5kg Calor cylinder? Will I get roughly the same length of useage? And are they roughly the same size?
The calor holds 4.5 Kg of gas and the 907 holds 3 KG
Q2: How much should I expect to pay for a 907 cylinder? I see them for £9.99 and upwards on eBay and new ones for £30 also on eBay.
The exchange price of a 907 in this country is around £14-99
Q3: Refills? How much is a Campingaz refill (in the UK and in France) compared to a Calor refill?

It seems the regulator fitting screws into the cylinder itself. Having never seen one, I can't visualise it, but I seem to recall reading that the bottles are usually rotated onto the regulator.

Q4: If this is so, does the regulator have some for of switch off? Can I connect the regulator, then connect the hose to the cooker?
There is no regulator switch on a 907
Q5: If not, can I use one of these and connect my usual butane.propane regulator to it?
the adaptor you show will work and you will be able to use your calor regulator in conjunction with it
