We live in the Channel Islands and use our UK-stored caravan for four weeks per year. Having ruled out a full awning (no room in the car to bring it home if it was wet at the end of a holiday) and been unimpressed with a porch awning, we are considering a Fiamma Caravanstore or similar.
Before we buy the wrong thing (again) can anyone advise/give their opinion of the Caravanstore or the Omnistore or suchlike. Our van is a 97 Coachman Concept 500/5 and we would probably be looking only to buy the canopy plus a roof support pole or two.
Only thing I know about them is you must make sure their tied down well as should it get windy when your away from your unit they can damage your van otherwise havent heard of any other probs with them Now PDQ awning/porch keep away from
I have a Caravanstor awning that fits to an awning rail on the side of my campervan, works fine for me, must be pegged down though, it some with the guys and pegs etc. Also got a side and end panel for it, to make a room. Mine has an extra rafter to make sure the roof is tensioned right across so the sliding door doesn`t snag it when opening.
