Hi, off on our 2nd camping trip next weekend. On our first trip we bought a small plastic folding table and realised when we arrived at the site that it was way too small for the 4 of us (2 adults, 9 and 6 year old!). Personally I don't like the look of the square folding aluminium tables, however they are cheap! What do you all reckon to the all-in-one tables/seats available? I've been having a look at various websites but would be grateful for some recommendations.
Do you mean those ones that fold up into a kind of suitcase affair and open up to be a table with 4 small seats attached? if you do I had a look at one at the local caravan shop and I would say they are ok for a quick meal but not all that comfy if you want to sit there longer, also if you not an average size and me and the family are not then there really isnt much of a seat to place a well padded backside on lol, they are not that expensive or very heavy to pack so I would say they are just ok but not brilliant, hope that helps
There is a table and chairs on sale on the millets website - we have it and it is FABULOUS!! We paid full price for it but it is now £19.99..really good value!
we inherited a blue plastic folding table/chairs thing from sis in law, think it was Argos, folds into suitcase size, reasonably strong, ideal for kids/teens, but bit iffy for 6' 2" OH! We found safer sitting kids at table and us at either end on stronger camping chairs, height abit different but manageable!
We take a couple of camping chairs to sit on outside anyway, as the fold-up thing is definately not comfi for relaxing, ok for meals!
Just had very good buy tho, folding Aluminium table from Argos, 70cm x 70, big enough for our little hibachi bbq, heatproof, rolls into a bag and only £18 odd! Well-chuffed with it! Ideal for food prep or when you don't want to sit on the floor with your disposable bbq!!
------------- Worked our way along, now got my darling 'Folder'! Can't wait!!
Thanks for the replies so far, I can't find the Millets table/chairs on their website either!?!
Papadore - I know what you mean about comfort (or lack of!), however we have got 4 comfy camping chairs that we would use to sit on after eating our meal - we would just be literally using the table/chairs thing for eating at. I'm not Kate Moss size, but not Dawn French either so would probably be ok for 20 minutes or so!!
Fairychops - have you tried out your aluminium table yet? I'm just concerned it will wobble all over the place being so light, if not then I might go for one of them as that is a good buy!
About 20 minutes ago I found a website with a combi table/chairs thing for only £19.99 (plus delivery charge) but now i've lost it Doh!
Aluminium table was fab! Not too heavy, all rolled up into reasonable sized carry bag, was out all night in nasty wind in Dorset and didn't blow away! (we forgot about it!) We're going to get another for the garden at home! Depends what your needs are, not really big enough for more than 2 people to sit at, but ideal to use as a work-top/cooking table! Looks quite nice too!

The millets table is out of stock, and the sales guy told me by email that it wasn't going to be back in stock.
I ended up with the argos one that is similar, but £10 dearer. We didn't really use it to sit at as it was bought as a kitchen worktop, but as the folding all in one bit the dust on our holiday we will try it next time out.
We had an table with attached seats but it wasn't robust enough for DH, or for the imbalance that you get having 4 people of different weights using it, so now we have one of these http://www.worldofcamping.co.uk/shop/Detail.asp?ProductID=1418 & I think its FANTASTIC! Having benches that can be used seperately makes it much more versatile.
We got one of the aluminium fold out tables with seats attached for our most recent trip, and I have to say it was a great success - easily sturdy enough, even with OH and I on one side and the kids on the other, and it was a lot easier than sitting at a table on camp chairs. Also great for playing cards and board games. I have to confess that I used my birthday money to get a good quality one - sad or what! - although I cant for the life of me remember the make, but it was about £50, and after the tent, the most expensive bit of kit we've got, but I had tried the £19.99 ones with blue seats and found them too flimsy, and had heard too many stories of the seats splitting on the first use. Just have to hope for money at Christmas now so I can get EHU for next year!!
Thank you all for replying. I've decided to go for a table without seats attached, mainly because they just dont look very comfortable, and we do like to eat quite alot!! I'm either going to buy the aluminium square table that I've seen in Argos or go for a slightly larger (and more expensive!) table with foldout legs.
