Helen,

I think you misunderstood what I meant.  I wasn't sure how wide your roof box was, to be able to put a bike, in a bike carrier, beside the roof box, not the bike in the box!

My current roof box is a half width size, so I can get two bikes on the roof as well as my roof box.

However, our box is wide so we don't have the room alongside.

Hi Helen.
I have been searching for a replacement for my rear bike rack as the weight of the bikes can also have an adverse effect on the front wheel drive of the car by levering the front up, due both to weight and overhang of the bikes!

It can also give you "searchlights for headlights" when on dipped beam unless you have self-levelling suspension.

There have been a number of people on E-bay selling 4 Bike Carriers with a set of Roof Bars, I distinctly recall one from a guy in Glasgow, so that might be worth looking at.
