We're going camping for the first time next weekend and one of the few things that we still need to get is a Vango Nitestar baby sleeping bag.
Does anybody know of stores either in the North West or Midlands areas that have them in stock? I've tried Hi-Peak, Stapeley and a couple of others without any joy and don't mind a trip up or down the motorway tomorrow to go and get one.
Our youngest (1), who has been a star night sleeper at home, didn't settle at all in his samsonite (expensive) travel bubble cot, nor in a normal travel cot. As socksitis found with their wee one, he was also too cold despite fleecey grow-bag and maybe a little disorientated too (although not his first camping trip). We all (2 parents and 3 babes) ended up snuggling up on one kingsize mattress turned sideways with a single at the end so my OH could stretch out his legs (also had king duvet to cover us all) . Funny, our eldest two children were terrible sleepers as young babies at home but under canvas, snuggled with us, are out like a light.
In a long winded fashion I'm suggesting you don't worry if you can't get the sleeping bag, as until they're camping, you really don't know how they'll settle. We nearly cut short our first camping trip (5 years ago on I of Wight) as the weather was awful and the babes didn't sleep but after two manic nights they settled and we chilled, had a superb holiday and every trip since has been fab.
I got a baby sleeping bag from the camping shop on the outskirts of Kendal - bought in on bank holiday Monday and they had a few left.
As another post has said, it was a little big (baby only 8 weeks old) but just tied it off at the bottom with a belt. She was lovely and toasty, and slept like a log - 21.30- 09.30 or thereabouts each night.

Thanks for the quick reply, if CJ replies before we've sorted it & wants it then thats fine if not I'll probably take it - just let me check with the girlfriend tonight.
what ages is it suitable for? I really don't know much about this as it's our first child :)
Is there a PM thing on this board? I can't find it - I'm sure I've used it before? anyway mail me on steve_worton'AT'yahoo.co.uk if you don't want to keep posting here.
