hi someone clare i think said that underlay flooring from laminate flooring is a cheap alternative to carpet, now i am wondering could i use this on top of my airbed with a sheep on top of that?? i am so sick of cold airbeds, and camping for 6 weeks solid next summer, i am don't want to put up with cold air beds, at present i put a rubber picnic backed matt under the airbeds, and then on top of the airbeds, but i still feel the cold slightly, the kids don't which is all that matters, but the insulated underlay seems to be ideal or am i mad??
try it and hold it down with a fitted sheet. i use a fleece blanket held down with a fitted sheet and two fleece blankets inside the sleeping bag when it does get cold, just stitched the round the bottom so my feet dont poke out
have you considered one of those sheepskin style mattress covers under the sheet you have now? or maybe a sleeping bag liner? it may be that the sleeping bag you have now needs updating for a higher rating. I get cold at night when camping too, fleece pyjamas even in august! plus socks and sometimes a jacket ontop too!

will look out for the sheepskin mattress covers in the winter sales after jan, i already sleep in fleecy pj's, fleece jacket socks, have a 4 season sleeping bag and still nesh, but i am a cold person anyway at home.
You would be better with the underlay under the airbed to prevent the airbed cooling down to ground temperature. I have used a camping mat under my airbed for years and have never had condensation problems.

i think argos sell them all year round.

I used to use a fleecy matress protector when we used airbeds (given them up and use campbeds now) as I felt the cold and it was wonderful. Dunelm do them for about £10. Also the quilted matress protectors do a good job too - no need for an extra fitted sheet that way.
thanks, i was debating on campbeds, but would need 4 and i doubt all 4 would fit in the sleeping area of my tent, as the kids are small, i want them all in the same sleeping pod, at present i can get 2 double airbeds and still a little room at the side.
