I know a few members have expressed an interest in purchasing a satellite kit. If so, you may be interested in the following:

Maplins have a £20 saving on their 'Satellite Suitcase' until 2nd October 2007. The offer price is £79.99.

They also have a 'Camping Satellite Suitcase System' available for £59.98.

I beleive they also offer free UK delivery for orders.

  I should be on commission!

They are OK if your only using them in the UK. You would need to upgrade to at least a 50cm dish if going to the continent.(Maplin dish is 38cm) At £50 why buy an arial and pole. I have read other threads where people bring their own digi boxes and have all the channels in their caravan as they do at home. Surely can't be bad at that.

My maplins kit works fine down as far as the Brittany Atlantic coast.

The dish came witha decoder but we take our sky box from home as it's easier to set up and if you're oaying for it, why leave it in the house.

If you get a satellite mover and use the decoder that comes with the kit, you can line it up from in the caravan with the remote too. Ideal if it's raining. I know the maplin decoder is fully compatible with a motor, not sure about how well the dish would mount on it though. That said, a sky minidish is not hard to find and can be clamped on the motor, straight to the jockey wheel.
