I hate being too hot in bed (+ in a tent), and to cool myself down I stick my foot/feet out of the duvet. This is our first year camping and as it's getting colder, I'm thinking about investing in a couple of good quality sleeping bags to use instead of the duvet we have been using. The thing is, I may need to stick my feet out at sometime and I wondered if bags are produced that can be undone from either end.
My Vango Astral is a good roomy square ended bag, and has a two-section zip. So you can open it across the base and effectively be sleeping in a tube, or the side zip will open from both ends. Very versatile.
Some also have separate zips for across the bottom and up the side (these can often be joined with another to form a double bag if kids aren't in close proximity )
my Snugpak Navigator sleeping bag unzips accross the bottom end and i find it very warm. unfortunatly thats where the good points end in my opinion as i find the bag too small for me - need something with a bit more room
