We always have hook up when away and it seems a bit daft to then use the gas to boil a few potatoes or heat up some soup, does anyone know if there is such a thing as a simple electric pan that would do this.
We have a double skillet for the gas which is brilliant as it heats up jackets, pizzas, pies and can be used as a traditional pan or fry pan.
Is there something similar in electric that is not too expensive as it would defeat the object of saving a few pennies, if not then just a simple pan for boiling pots or the like.
Its branded as a Santa Fe Fijita Sizzler, but we use it as an electric griddle - Its Brilliant!
A complete fry up for 4 can be done on it, including fried eggs. We've cooked steaks, chilli, stir fry etc. And the best thing is we don't need to take any pans with us. There is a stainless steel bowl thing that fits into the round section which we use for heating up canned foods like baked beans.
When you're on EHU you've already paid for, why use gas!
Its 1300W and has variable temp adjustment.
Chaz
PS. Comet are doing them at £17.99 to clear out their stock, but you have to find a comet with it still in stock by using the collect from store option on the website. There's more pics on amazon if you search for "Fajita Sizzler"
If these had been marketed at campers they'd have sold loads more than marketing it as a Fajita cooker!
Wow - that's amazing - I want one. I already have one of those george foreman type things though and am running out of room. Well I think I have gone past running out of room LOL
I have a Russell Hobb multi-cooker, it has a variable control will heat oil enough to cook chips, will boil, stew, simmer and keep warm, the can be made into a steamer with the addition of a steamer pan, which is all in the package.
I use this pan for my eggs and bacon, no fat required, all non stick, I do curries, casseroles, in fact anything in it.
I use this in my kitchen as well, mine is the older version, but my friend has the newer on, about £45 I think, absolutely brilliant piece of kit, I shall bring it to Bridgewater, in November, but search for multi cooker, you can do your meat and steam your veg at the same time.
We have taken the george foreman a couple of times as ours is the small one and it's just so much easier to to chuck bacon or chiops in there and forget about it for 10 minutes, it's also a lot healthier that frying.
