Hi all,
New to the site, but thought you guys were the best to advise. Looking to buy a Wind up Lantern. Quite a few on the market offering similar things. Any Idea which is the best?
Cheers.

My opinion is that the Wind up 'Torches' are fine, we have two in the van, two at home and I also have one in my desk at work. I can't imagine the lanterns would be able to give you enough light from the LED's.
We have a rechargeable lantern that has a U shaped flourecent tube in it, charge overnight for 8 hours light, can charge from car cigar lighter as well with a remote control so you can hang it up and turn on/off without touching it, cost around £15.

Thanks Jane,
That torch looks funky. Will have a look further. Completely different to what I've seen. I was looking at Cyber-lite torches and Lanterns: are they any good?

We have one from Millets. A bit pricey at £35 but we decided to treat ourselves! It's been fab. You can either wind it or charge it from the car cigarette lighter. It looks like the one cas54 has but the light bit collapses into the base to make it compact for packing. Cas54's may well do the same and is cheaper. Though ours is a cool camouflage colour!------------- Julie
