Hi I live in manchester and I have just purchased a new shap Range rover, does anyone know of a garage that fits towbars to range rovers. The quotes I am getting at present are quite high......
Try Peter Bowman in Bury but I am not sure that you will get a towbar fitted to a Range Rover cheaply. Bowmas offer an excellent service, and a lifetime warranty on the materials and fitting but be warned if you bend it by hitting something with it they will not repair it under warranty.
------------- I've taken a vow of poverty, to annoy me send money
if its a new range rover I would assume (dont quote me ) that the electrics just plug in on a connector so fitting it should be quite easy to DIY - as for the parts try RIMMER bros of lincoln they do mail order and are an offical landrover parts dealer so it will be a proper one and wont invalidate your warranty
We had a towbar fitted by Tow Bar Express yesterday to our Landrover 2, they are mobile and travel all over the no is 08001444086. They fitted the Witter towbar and we paid £200 for an Alko towball it is £16 extra. They were very good and very prompt. They were cheaper than anyone else as they do not have to charge VAT.

You are correct in that they are plug in, plus a little bit more. But the car has to be 'coded' by the dealer for the car to recognise a towbar is fitted. Quite common with new cars these days.
I bought mine from Towequipe for a Terrano ll. Great service, brilliant price and free advice for fitting it yourself. They also list a Fitter network. I saw one for Chorley, Lancs. The Range Rover choice is a large one. All with full kit options. ( bfurphy. Fiat Panda prices without fitting: Swan neck £79, detachable £151 inc electrics)
Thanks for that bit of info, but I would have to get it fitted, unfortunately OH diy skills dont go past laminate flooring, You have given me food for thought thanks again

Hi Barbara, You (or your OH) can have a look at what work is involved in fitting it to a Panda here . That's another good thing about Towequipe, loadsa info. You will have to scroll down the PDF a bit to find your model (2 or4wd) but the info is there. Glad to be of help. With our Terrano thing it was simple to fit as the mounting brackets with holes were built into the chassis. 10 minutes to fit the towbar, hour for the wiring and 8 months later,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, still haven't got round to fixing the interior panels back properly. Can't rush these things
