I hope someone can help me on this one. I've acquired an old two burner stove labeled Tilley Trojan, nothing else on it. I have discovered a picture of a stove by the same maker but unlike mine which only comprises two burners and a wire frame it boasts a red box base with the two burners above, is this a picture of a Mk2 and is mine a MK1. The hose on mine has had the connector cut off, I suspect that the MK1 is designed to run on bottle pressure gas and the later MK2 off a regulator which is attached to the bottle. Can anyone confirm this gen so far, and if I am correct advise me how to connect it to gas bottles. Many years ago I had a similar arrangement that connected up to a calor gas bottle and it was the best stove I've ever had, hot, fast, and difficult to blow out

Hi Skimmerflyer2.  I've just joined Uk Campsite and noticed that way back in 2006, you had a question about connecting a Tilley Trojan gas burner to a gas bottle and wondered if you managed to solve this as I now have the same problem.

My Tilley burner is around 20/25 years old and is sitting in my garage.  I would like to attach it to a GAZ bottle so that my son can use it when he goes fishing.  I contacted Tilley Lamps but they though they no longer make burners, only lamps.  The burner has an orange tube which I understand means it is the high pressure version. (The low pressure version has a black tube).

Any help/advice you can offer would be much appreciated.

just looked at the tilley trojan i have in the shed. it is the bottle presure version model GC 950 has an orange hose . we connect it to a 907 bottle ( or is it a 904 ? not sure now) and it works fine. have to turn off the burner at the bottle when i need to disconnect it to release the pressure holding the hoses tight.

I have a 35 year old Tilley Titan - still in very good working order.  It takes Camping Gaz 904's with a screw on hose.

roger3103, Did you find an answer to your question?

I have just acquired a Tilley Trojan gc950 with original hoses and bottle pressure connector.

I am trying to find out if I can replace the hoses and which bottle this connector works on, if any!

Any help much appreciated, thank you.

I had a Tilly Trojan 2 ring since serving in Germany from 1974. Used it most years with family since camping in uk. Having n0 regulator it certainly heats anything quickly. Trying to obtain replacement black bakolite main knob which controls the gas from my blue Gaz bottle
