Hi does anyone know the best way to carry 3 bikes on a range rover? At the moment we csrry them on a towball mounted rack but obviously when the caravan is on the back thats no good. The towbar is of the removable type, so a bolt on one won't work. I have roof bars but I think the car would be too high to lift them on and off. I have been told there isn't a boot mount one to fit because it has a split tailgate, the only other option is one of those that goes on the rear of the caravan but I am unsure weather one could be fitted. The van is a 98 Bessacarr 550. Any thoughts or advice.

Thanks in anticipation

Andy

Hey Andy, weird that we have the same surname and have posted a query about bike carriers on the same day!!! Before I posted I did a search through past threads on the equipment board and there was a long discussion which will probably help you out.

Best of luck

Andy its either up on the roof of the Rangie or a tow bar mounted one (if you mount them on the top of the car you can use the caravan step to reach them)

As for the rear of the van I wouldn't be keen on putting them on the back of the van

1 too much weight on the back wall of ya van

2 extra weight a the back could cause loading nightmares ( and the see saw effect)
