Hi Everyone

We're thinking about getting a Cadac Safari (high pressure model with small gas canisters) but I'd like to know what sort of gas consumption they have.

Ideally a rating per hour (litres/hr) or similar, but anyone who has one who can give comment on how long their gas bottles last would be great too.

Also - anyone used theirs as an 'oven' with lid on etc? I'm thinking pizza, part-baked bread, southern-fried chicken etc etc...

Thanks

I've just ordered one of these, on a previous thread I seem to remember it saying that they got about 6 hrs cooking time from a 500g cannister.

I have just had a look at the LP version in my local shop and I'm very impressed with the size of the lid/saucepan, it will easily me big enough to cook pasta/potatoes for my family(5).

You can cook baked potatoes using the lid as an oven so I presume you can also do all the things you've mentioned

6 hours burn time not unrealistic, we certainly manage 4-5 "cookings" from a canister. Have used it to cook pizza and part baked bread without any real problems
