Away this weekend first outing of the year cant wait - bucket with lid, from mothercare will be packed with zoflora - would not leave home with out it !!!!
We too can add a vote for the luggable loo. We have a great trick to make life extra easy which we found somewhere on this forum......
We take biodegradable pedal bin bags and a pack of hanging basket crystals (I buy both of these in sainsburys no problem).... line the bucket with a fresh bag at night, squirt of zoflora and a few scoops of crystals. Only allow number ones, the bag is sealed and thrown with the usual rubbish in the morning (crystals absorb all the liquid). This tip has totally transformed camping with kids and in bad weather - no late night, or early morning trips to the loos and no emptying of the loo.

Ask your local baker for a jam bucket & lid - you can chuck it in the bin on leaving day.
I work in a bakers shop, and this is what i always used until I had the portaloo out of the caravan. we also sell sandwiches and the catering size mayonnaise buckets with lids are good size too. So your local sandwich bar or cafe is also a good place to get one.
And I use...a bucket. It cost me £1.29 from Sainsbury. I wash it out in the morning with a drop of washing up liquid, fill it with water and then it sits outside the tent next to the fire bucket, so if I need the fire bucket to wash clothes or something then there's still another bucket of water there.
No lid, no seat, no chemicals/cat litter/bags, no nothing. It's only pee after all and pee is sterile when it leaves the body so there's very little by way of germs even by morning. The official facilities are undoubtably a greater source of infection! And it's no big deal to empty it...first up and over to the toilet block in the morning gets to take it across to the waste disposal point.
Joanna, if you don't mind me asking, how many wee's can you do in a in bag LOL Last year I used the special bags but they're expensive. For night time wee only, a cheaper option would be nice. When I take the kids by myself, my luggable loo tends to be used much more for all sorts ;)
Another vote for the luggable loo and at the mo they are reduced to £14 or go on ebay and type in skyblue leisure i also use biodegradeable double doodie bags i've only seen them on skyblue leisure
