I have the new TomTom One version 3. I'm off up to Scotland next month avoiding the motorways (old, slow van!. Today I programmed in a route to first stop on the journey. After planning an alternative route and reviewing it, it seems to be going a very long way around, especially to get to the site in the Lake District, when it's just off the A6. Is there any way I can edit this to keep me on the A6? It's just a few miles off the A6?
I know I can alter it to use an itinery, is this the only way? I downloaded a program called Tyre, but I'm finding it hard going just planning the route on it, let alone downloading/transfering to the TomTom.
i have a tomtom. plan your route as normal once it has calculated you can go in to avoid part of route press that and select the part you do not want to take and see if that is a better route.
I think Autoroute is one of the best route planners but a very good alternative is the ACSI DVD ROM which costs about £10 from Vicarious Books. Not only does it have a first class route planner but also has details on location and facilities of 1000s of campsites all over Europe, including UK
