Well, despite me thinking that I didn't want one of these I decided I did and went and got one of the last two at our local Lidl this morning.
I bought almost this exact one six years ago also from Lidl and while it worked very well when plugged in to the car, it didn't have a mains plug included and we didn't have EHU either back then so ultimately I decided a coolbox and ice packs were easier for short stops. Then we got a 3-way fridge plus EHU for long trips. But...occassionally I do need a fridge for weekends and then I have to lug the CombiCool there. This does not fit in with my minimalistic packing ethos, so when you very useful people said there was now a mains plug included that made me reconsider. As I said the previous one was fine when it was powered up and did hold a reasonable quantity of food, so...now I have a good lightweight UK option.
You lot are terrible when it comes to persuading me I need new things......
(Why didn't I just buy an adaptor for my old one? Well, the flex for the old one got caught and wrecked (totally by accident, nothing to do with Hubby not looking of course) under one of the car seats when it was being shoved back. So it got slung out ages back.)
how long to these things stay cool unconnected? dont have ehu so would have to run off car and would be reluctant to leave on all night...could chare when out and about though
We went out for the day last weekend, we arrived at approx 9am and at lunch it was still very cold, on returning to the car to leave at about 11am it was still cold and the drinks were still definately chilled, this was with two icepacks and left in a black car in sunlight so it did pretty well.

Hooray! Managed to get one of these yesterday though had to travel a bit further to get it as my local Lidl had sold out. Very helpful customer service department at Lidl who rang around the stores for me. Had it charged overnight and i'm very impressed.
I was pessimistically expecting the cool boxes to be out of stock but they had a few piled up in my Lidl , they are the "Fun and Sun" ones , is this the correct one to buy ?
