Is the fuse in the lead conking out? Try putting in a heavier fuse but no more than 10 Amp. This will give you usage of 2200 watts at a 220 Volt.

But: If the campsites' hook-up point is failing, rather than your lead, it could be that:

- The campsite point is fused with 4 amp giving you only 880 Watts to use (not uncommon at Campings)

or

-The point is fused with 10 amps but has to share it with more leads to other campers. Buy "lighter" appliances.

Ask the proprietor at what amperage his point are fused, multiply that by 220 volts and you have what you can hook up in Watts.

Thank You Freebird but this is happening even at home as well as on a campsite it stays connected for maybe 10 to 15 minutes before tripping out no matter what current is being drawn

I would suspect this is a fault with the RCD on your hook up. They are very sensitive by design, and it may be that your daughters has had a knock or just old. It may be possible to find a replacement RCD module if you can identify it. Try the manufacturers / dealers if they are still going. An good electrical factors may also be worth a visit if there is one handy.

Regards

Alasdair
