I have finally agreed to have hook up, we have been camping for many years and never need it (mainly because I'm too tight to pay for it) until we stopped at a site where the OH couldn't plug in her hairstraighteners. Anyway if I want to camp again I have to provide power.
My question is how much should I be paying and does anybody know of any deals on at the moment.
Dont' be tempted by cheapies from ebay. most are not legit
What evidence do you have to prove this? There are a number of camping suppliers on ebay who sell excellent products that are perfectly legitimate. Also someone might be selling off their camping gear so you might get a bargain.
I have seen a couple of the 'dodgy' ehu that have been bought off e bay and all they consisted of was a plug for connecting to the site hook up and a 4 plug extension socket. Yes i agree there are reputable camping suppliers on ebay but better to be safe than sorry by having a good look at online or offline suppliers first.

Because I bought one and it was Bloody dangerous. MY OH is a spark and when he came home and seen it he went nuts and it went straight in the bin THAT's what evidence I have. I don't make unfounded statements

Hi Kevin
You are a recognised outlet as my post says. BUY from recognised/ recommended outlets. I have bought many things off sites on Ebay wich have been recommended on here.

Would agree with Stewey here. We had a look at the EHU's at Go Outdoors which are triple in a triangle formation. The sockets are all in the right orientation so that you can actually plug 3 plugs in at once. The one that we have is three in a line and if you can imagine that the plug cables on certain units obstruct the next plug. The one at GoOutdoors looks much better and at that price of £49.99 looks realy good value.
The Waudbys site has the triple unit for 79.99 so certainly not as good as GoOutdoors price at the moment.

My post was a genuine question as I wanted to know if you had personally had a bad experience purchasing this sort of thing from ebay - obviously I upset you please accept my apologies but please do not swear and/or shout at me. This is a totally unwarranted attack, I did not accuse you of making unfounded statements, I just wanted to know what the problem you had was as I have purchased from genuine campers on ebay who were wanting to sell their stuff off due to packing in camping and I have never had any problems.
We've just bought one from Camping World for £45. I ordered it on Monday and it came today which is really quick considering the Bank Holiday. It even has it's own case.
Our previous one was a made up one which my ex husband put together some years ago, we've haven't dared used it! (His idea of saving money which is why he's now an ex!).
Anyway as we are going to be getting back into camping again, we decided to sell some stuff on Ebay and used the money to purchase a proper hook up unit. We just wanted to be safe and sure.
