Well we've bought one of these I'm waiting fro it to be delivered anyday now. Can't wait to use it as hopefully it's as useful as you lot seem to say it is.
I bought one last year through the UKCS shop. When away for a couple of weeks I pitch it at the end of the caravan and use it as a storage tent to keep all the 'stuff' in that usually clutters up the awning. It worked a treat.
We used it in France last year during some horrendous weather, it took a real battering but stayed up, stood firm and kept everything inside nice and dry. It packs up really small for transporting and takes no time at all to put up. I have considered keeping it in the van full time. I could use the Cadac in it in inclement weather.
I have also just bought one of these from camperlands yesterday. Hope to use it as a kitchen tent as I usually cook just outside the tent with the door up and a windbreak but got fed up of moving the kitchen stuff back into the tent when camping over the bank holiday due to all the bad weather It has some really good reviews so looking forward to using it.
yes it is brilliant - we bought ours about 18 months ago when i had a nasty experience with lots of kids (ours!!!) in the tent when i was cooking - nothing happened, thankfully - but it made me want to take the cooker away from the main tent.
it is great to keep all the cooking/storage type of things away from cluttering up the tent & (with a luggable loo inside) becomes an emergency toilet at night!!
good luck with yours.
I'm glad everyone seems to like them. I picked one up at the car boot sale today. I paid a fiver, half expecting for half the pegs to be missing, or it to be ripped, but it had never been used! It's now up in the garden with the kids playing in it.
I can't beleive how small it packs up to. Can't wait to go away - I may have to have a weekend camping before our August camping holday.
I also picked up a bucket barbeque for £4! I'm going to seriously have to work out where all the gears going! JUst as well I'm now on my own with the children - I don't think I physically have room for a man in my life!!
The only downside is getting the tent up on my own - but I can just about manage it with a bit of help from the girls (9 & 5).
i manage to get the tent up on my own - even though i often have camping neigbours offering to help!! my daughter I often go away as owing to my husbands shifts - he doesn't know when he can take time off.
i have a rage bergen 6 - it is extremely easy to put up on your own - feed in the poles, pull on the guy on the end & peg up, inner rooms & you are away - each time i tell my daughter she has to help me - but we get to a site - door opens & offs she runs!!
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
