OK, I suppose this has been asked before; if you have Sky installed in your caravan via an additional digibox, do you have to pay the full amount to Sky if you alrealy have it indoors? I'm sure there is a simple way around this but as I am a technical numpty and OH not much better, we don't know.
Thanks. OH doesn't really want to do that though and he is rabbiiting on about getting another box, but Sky will want to come and install it if bought from them I suppose, as we have told them it's for upstairs. Then he is on about the cable....
As Fogey says.
The viewing card is tied to the box so if you have another box you have to have another subscription in theory. I know people who have called Sky and got them to change the card over to the other box and then back again, but they won't always do this.

This popped up while I was typing first reply. Sounds as if you are doing Sky multiroom. You have to have the box connected to the phone. They are sh!t hot on this because people were scamming them by paying for multiroom but the 2nd box was at their mates down the road or the cottage in France. Or the caravan!

So to be legal we need a separate subscription then? we are paying enough already. So why are Sky boxes on sale on ebay and apparently at B&Q?
Anne
You don't have to buy them from Sky and they can be used for Free to Air or FreeSat. There are loads of channels you can get without a subscription, but if you use a sky box you will need a card (they charge £20 for it). There are companies that do satellite stuff especially for caravans and there are the suitcase style packages they have in Aldi or Lidl occasionally. You only need a "Sky" sky box to watch the sky channels.
