I'm not sure if its been mentioned but take double the amount of ice packs to what you actually use - we totally forgot this once, let them thaw, went to refreeze them at reception and realsied that we hadnt got any already frozen to put in...now we take some in the cool box and some unfrozen and freeze them as soon as we get there - most sites cost between 20-50p or they take a donation in a charity box.

happy camping

I freeze everything I possibly can to keep the coolbox cooler. As others have mentioned, if you make up meals in advance and freeze them in take away containers or double wrapped in freezer bags they can last for a good 2 days in a non-electric coolbox. Freeze milk, cartons of drink, etc.

Take plenty of lighting. On our first camping trip we took one lantern and one torch - the batteries ran out in the lantern one night, leaving one torch between us, so leaving one in total darkness while the other went to the toilet block (couldn't both go at the same time because of leaving the kids sleeping in the tent!)

Make sure you practice putting the tent up before you go so that you know you have got everything and also so that you know what you are doing when you get to the site and have lots of other campers watching you!

UK Campsite has it's very own list take a look may have somthing on you haven't thought about.UKCS list

For your air matresses I would recommend putting a rug or foam mat underneath it (we have both) otherwise you may find the matress quite cold at night.

Also would recomend making your own list, we have a list which we have saved on the computer it gets added to and subtracted to each trip. Genrally a copy gets printed off each trip so I can scribble on it!!

Another handy thing to take is some folding boxes to use wilst you there, we keep our food and plates in one.

Have a fantasic trip.
