Hi All,

I'm on the road and needed a way to keep charge to my 90W Dell XPS M1330 laptop. I ended getting purchasing a 20Ah powerpack from Halfords, however it seems to be draining very, very fast to the point of being pretty much useless when charging my laptop from it.

Should I be getting better performance from a 20Ah powerpack, or do I need to get something with considerably more capacity?

Standard laptop Liion battery is quoted as 14.8V 56WHr

Are you using a 240 volt invertor, or a 12 volt to laptop DC convertor ?

12 volts 20 AH = 240 watt hours

It sounds OK, but I never used to get anything like the full whack from the 12 volt 7AH lead acid I used to use for my 40 watts of bike lights.

I eventually switched to more efficient lights and a 3.3AH NiMH battery.

Why not just get a Cig lighter adapter from Maplin? Got to be easier
