I need a bit more space for a trip to France this summer.
I have a few friends who would lend me their roof boxes, but when they see the width of the standard scenic roof bars, they all seem dubious that the clamps would be wide enough to fit round them!
Is this a problem, what have other renault owners done? The widtth of them is about 3 inches (approx)
I have a Scenic too, with Renault roofbars. They have a central track, like the Thule system, so you don't put a clamp around the edge of them, but slide what is basically a bolt with a (very roughly) 1.5cm square head, through the track.
I got the necessary bolts from roofbox.co.uk after phoning them for advice. They were really helpful and knew exactly what I needed.
