not really equipment I know

but  does anyone have any reccomendations on camp site guides?

I knw they wont be as good as the guides on here but its so we can roam around abit ( and not be tied to internet cafes)

Hi Andy

When we started caravanning we were lucky enough to receive 2 "AA Caravan & Camping" guide books as presents.

All the parks are rated from 1 to 5 pennant.  We're never stayed at a "bad" park when selecting from this guide although we usually stay on 3 or 4 pennant parks - but it depends on what you want.

However, our guide is now outdated as it's 2005!

I think they only cost around £5.99 off Amazon. (Note to self - need to update ours) although I do rely quite heavily on the site reviews on UKCS these days.

Whilst I use a couple of books for Continental campsites I find its just as easy to use the internet. UKCampsites has a massive database of campsites as do other websites.

Just print out the site details of the area you are visiting from this website, then you have the most comprehensive guide around at your fingertips.
