We've always used a cordless rechargeable and have recently had to convey our very old Black & Decker to that great repository in the sky. It had done trojan work over many years, not taken up much storage space, and was adequately powerful for cleaning up in our caravans and, latterly, motorhomes.
We replaced it with a Black & Decker NV4803 4.8v cordless Dustbuster which looks as if it will perform even better than our old one. In fact, I've used it today to clean up some left over diy mess - absolutely superb!

Hi all, I too have the 'Dyson Animal' and find it to be excellent. Some people bemoan the fact that a full charge, only gives approx 6mins cleaning, but I find this adequate for 2 caravan cleans. However, our caravan is only 12 feet. We have a Cocker Spaniel, and the animal, is just the dab for us.

My wife is very happy with a mains powered Power Devil.Seems to do the job quite well considering we have a caravanning border collie!
Definately not expensive and even comes with a flexible pipe and hand tools..

We have the power devil but bought the Tesco value cylinder hoover which is small and compact compared to the usual cylinder hoovers and is only a tad under £15. I wouldn't use it at home but for the caravan it is ideal and a lot better than the small hand held ones if you have a dog.------------- Jackie

This one cost £33.24 all in, inc p&p from www.Tooled-Up.com . Product code B/DNV4803.
Whilst not perhaps cheap, it's definitely cheerful, and with reasonable care should last for years.
