Can anyone recommend me a good camping chair with good lower back support? The one I currently have gives me backache after a while, but if I try putting a cushion behind me, the seat isn't long enough :-(
Needs to be foldable to fit in the car and not one that leaves me sitting 6 inches from the flor. After a few glasses of wine I can't get up again... :-)
------------- It's easier to walk down a hill than to climb a mountain, but the view from the top is better!
Hi there.. we have some of the dukdalf reclining chairs..they are amazing..
I know theyre not cheap..but they are soooo comfortable..they are nice and wide and you can position the chair to what ever suits you for comfort...
They sit upright for you to eat around the table in the awning or outdoors and they lay right back for that nap in the afternoon or after youve had to much booze and cant make it into bed..hahahaha!!!
They fold flat and are lightweight and very very strong..(other half ran over one with his landrover and didnt even mark it) dont ask...lol
We got ours from Lowdham Leisure Notts and paid £69 each...below is a pic nearest to what we have..hope this helps...
We just spent 10 days in France using the MOST uncomfortable chairs and watched the people opposite use LaFuma reclining chairs; we were green with envy. As soon as we got home we went out and bought 2 RSX recliners. We have just got back from using them for 2 days and they are to die for!!! They were expensive but worth every penny. They are so comfortable, support the back well, they weight about 7kgs and fold flat. They unrecline (is that a word?) really easily and are fine to use at the table. I can't wait to go camping again just so that I can use my chair again!
I agree! Never sit on too cheap chairs just for the sake of trying to save money but ruining your back in the process.
Do try out some good chairs. I used to have a dukdalf chair but wasn't happy with what it did to my back. Toto -on the other hand- is well chuffed with hers and can sit in it for hours on end. I have now bought a folding chair with a seat like a hammock and I can now enjoy my book just as relaxed and painfree as Toto can...
So, try before you buy and try on a well rested day. It won't do you any good after a long days shopping; any seat will do by then.
We bought 2 of these and they are good for the price. What I really like about them is that they adjust better than a lot of the expensive ones so you can sit up straight when eating....I hate that slightly reclined positioned of most chairs even when completely upright.
Although I agree that the chairs mentioned are excellent, we have two cheaper Lafuma Chairs that we think are really comfortable. They can be set upright or can recline in a number of positions. They were only about £35 each and the footrests about £18 each extra.
Like everything else, its what suits you best.
Good Luck!
Try here - www.johnscrossshop.co.uk - I have ordered 2 of their directors chairs (the ones with the attached table and storage pockets) for just over £18 each - I tried one out at our local caravan place and they are dead comfy (and I have lower back problems) - they are the 4th one down on the chairs page. Also on the recliners page if you have more room the 4th one down (Seville) is an excellent chair (own 1 of these for our campervan where we have more room to store it) which is another one that is extremely comfortable.
