Has anyone tried a Kampa coolbox? They are more expensive than the standard Coleman's etc but claim to keep ice frozen for longer (five days). They do a 28 litre size which is closer to the size I would want than the too-big Igloos etc, but I would want some reassurance before buying that they really are worth the extra money.
Cheers. MT

I haven't tried these (I have a campingaz one) but want to get another one that keeps things colder for longer! I might buy one of these as they look like the size I need... thanks for posting about them I'll let you know how I get on!
Well, its 2009 now and I'm still wondering about this!
Has anyone tried the Kampa Evo Ice House 28 litre passive coolbox and/or know if its a noticeably higher performance than the standard Coleman-type coolbox which I have now? The official Kampa blurb says five days .... ?
Icey-Tek's products are very well thought of but they are v.v.v. expensive and, crucially, the 25 litre size which I would want is not tall enough inside to take a bottle of wine standing up.
If anyone knows of any other 'high performance' coolboxes which are round about the 25 litre size, l'd like to hear aboout those too.

According to their blurb they stay colder for longer than standard Coleman-type ones but it would be really good to get some feedback from someone who's actually used one. Please!

Just bumping you as I'd like to know too - someone on here did buy one last year but not reviewed it (I was looking at it too but plumped for a Coleman Extreme which I regret as very thick insulation).

Wouldn't like to comment on the effeciency of the Kampa cool boxes but when we were at our local camping store the other day, I did notice a TROLLEY full of said boxes marked as "faulty" and "return to supplier" by their back door.
Don't know if this sounds alarm bells for you but it certainly put me off that particular brand. We already have a 3 way fridge but wanted a smaller box (non powered) and went for a Camping Gaz 22l smart cooler.
Cheers. I've rung two local-ish camping shops who sell the Kampa Evo Icehouse and both said it was excellent - but they would, wouldn't they? OTOH, one of them said that they had feedback from a couple of customers saying that their Kampa was noticeably better than their previous Camping Gaz family coolbox ....
So, I'm just going round in circles here.
Overthinking a new coolbox, how sad is that!
