We are quite new to camping and loving it! As the weather is going to get worse (?) and the nights draw in we want to get a gazebo for additional living space as our Kelmarsh does not have the largest living space for two adults and two children! Does anyone have any idea where we can get a reasonably priced one at this time of year? I've tried Argos, Woollies, Tesco etc etc but they are all sold out now! Any help would be greatly appreciated
Perhaps you would be better with a porch awning type thingy to give you more space. I know a lot of sites do not allow gazebos.Shame to waste money if you can't use it.

Our tent does have an awning but as we found out at the weekend, when it rains the rain pours in and then we are confined to a weeny space. I know a lot of sites do not allow gazebos but we do like quieter sites where you tend to get more pitching space and where we have just been they allow gazebos at no extra charge all season long! I will need to find out if Eurohike do an extra awning.....
One of the reasons some sites dont allow gazebos is because they 'take off' in the slightest of winds. They are not guyed down, and suseptable to wind, they are like a kite if the wind gets under them, i have seen gazebos 'roll' across campsites this makes tham potentially damaging to other peoples tents, caravans too. However, in nice weather i have seen people using them and they are a good way of making a bit of extra room. I think if i were you i would consider one of the day tents instead of a gazebo, a little bit more expensive, but allowed on all sites and more structually sound and designed to be a bit more durable.

We have a Sunncamp daytent where the sides can be rolled up completely to give the openness of a gazebo. It also has 2 sides fully windowed and the other 2 have full doors so you can have many different combinations. The benefit of a proper daytent is that they are designed for outdoor use in the uk climate where gazebos are really only for garden use in good weather.

one of the other problems with a gazebo is the fact that the fabric is not waterproof and I would say after two very wet years camping waterproof is good
I have seen gazebos secured using awning tie down kits that should stop them blowing away
The gazebos I have seen (which are sold old now!) come with sides, guys and pegs and you can get weights for the feet too and we would take it down at night anyway, especially as summer disappears and the weather gets worse(?). I'm going to look at the day tent option but that may be too large for the boot of our car - we need some space for clothes, camping essentials, loo roll etc and we have yet to get a small table!
Weve got the Outwell Oklahoma and with the wind (gale force 6) we had near Tenby a gazebo would have been flattened in minutes!
The Oklahoma flapped and bashed around but was still standing and waterproof!
In nice weather all 4 sides can either roll up compleatly or mesh, it has windows with curtains on all corners.
The neighbours and the site owner were very impressed! One caravaner thought that it was my tent and was shocked when I told here that it was my kitchen/dining room!!
The cost does put you off but when you think weve had to bin 2 x £40 gazebos because they colasped, then it soon pays for it's self. oh and I've got matching windbreaks!!!!
Day tents are sturdier, last longer, are more practical and when packed away take less space than a gazebo.
Another recently discovered advantage - on a CL with more mossies than was healthy ....................... day tent + sides down + curtains up = enjoyable evening.
