After a very windy 10 day stay at the CC New Forest site, I now have two bent centre sections on the three piece " Easy Aluminium" alloy awning poles of my Bradcot Classic Awning.

I have figured out how to dismantle the telescopic sections, so just need individual poles. I can find complete 3 piece replacement pole assemblies on eBay, but at £25 plus postage, this seems expensive. I already have some spare poles of the smallest & largest diameter anyway, after cannibalising some other sections that I found thrown away on the site rubbish point. (Seems that others also suffered from the high winds).

Does anyone out there know of a supplier for the individual pole sections?

Last time I contacted Bradcot for spares, they weren't very helpful & put me in touch with a 3rd party who wanted over £60 plus postage for the centre section head piece which had also failed because of poor quality welding.

I have to say, that I wouldn't recommend these alloy poles to anyone with a large sized awning (ours is 1050) as they just don't seem strong enough in anything other than light breezes.

Thanks

Hi lohr500

You should be able to go to most caravan dealers and get replacement poles I know Chichester caravans do them but its along way from north yorks

or you could try T V S in Bolton

hope this helps jackie

Hi Jackie,

Tried a couple of caravan/camping shops whilst in the area and neither had suitable replacements. Plenty of aluminium poles, but none with the correct holes that the self locking adjusters clip into. Most also had tapered ends to slot into the next pole.

I will measure the internal/external diameter and length of the poles I need, so I know what to look for. I guess it shouldn't be too big a job to cut off any tapered ends and to drill in holes of the correct size for the self locking adjusters.

Will take a trip at the weekend to Dickinson's in Bradford where we bought the caravan and see what they have in stock.

Tony

Can't help with details of a supplier but do agree that the poles probably aren't the best for big awnings.  We have a 1075 and also had the gales (twice) whilst we were away but fortunately we'd be advised to get the steel as it's better for the bigger awnings.  This became apparent as the awning did not move at all whilst the gales were blowing.  Hope you get your poles sorted
