bought some royal camp beds before going away to suffolk tried them in the shop found them comfy and a little bigger than most not for long got to campsite got everything sorted first night fine second woke up in the morning thought this seems a bit low had a look and one of the seems had gave way had a good look when all bedding off and one of the seems is not reinforced and just pulled apart not on one but both beds we bought so for rest of week had to go and buy a air bed. got back home and today took back to shop we bought them and showed them so they gave me a full refund .
so will have a look at otherbeds for next year
do / dont like air beds they are alright when pump up firm but loose it over night and when er in doors go to the loo in the night getting in and out of bed feels like being at sea up and down with every movement.
we bought camp beds when we first started camping. gave them up after first season as took too long to put up, always felt cold in bed, youngest daughter kept falling off (4 at the time) much prefered been lower down on airbeds. still got them, but wouldnt even consider getting them back out. need to get rid of them really as taking too much storage space up.
these were very quick to put up a bit like camping chairs just pull tham into shape two clips 4 zips and some velcro and thats it about 30 seconds to do thats all.
We've been using our Royal airbed for over four years now, and it's been great. At first we blew ours up fully, but found that it was too hard when the weight of our two bodies were lying on it. Thanks to a tip on this forum (I believe it was Val's tip), we then started blowing it up enough to be able to just feel the ground when we press the middle with one hand. It's been lovely & comfortable since. Also I should think it puts less strain on the airbed if it's not fully inflated.
our air bed is an intex double hight queen bed so quite high if we did blow it up to what you say it would be so baggy you would loose yourself in it lol but ti would be fun .!!!
