When I read the title to this thread I thought you meant whilst in transit so here's my answer....
My loo roll fills my slow cooker which in turn sits inside the bucket (not used as a toilet I hasten to add!) If it has a cavity it gets filled when it goes in the boot of my car. No dead space for love nor money and we're still bursting at the seams.
To answer the thread correctly I've never camped where you're expected to provide your own loo roll but I guess if i did it'd be alongside my other toiletries in a good old fashioned Tesco's carrier bag. Every little helps!!!!!!!!
------------- If you have a problem stressing you, sort it. If you can't, there's no point worrying about it coz it won't make a blind bit of difference!!!! Jules
We recently stayed on a Cl and had to use our own roll and a torch so I just carried them over in my hands. Amazing how much care you take of it when it is so important to keep it dry. Get it wet and what would you do!!!!
Ours is kept in a polybag at the side of the loo in the tent, but I just pull a few sheets off & stuff it in my toilet bag to take to the loo block during the day.
In transit, the loo roll is carried in it's sealed polybag inside the loo, along with the Zoflora, gas bottle, solar lights & extra pegs.

Eweleaze, where the eco loos are, is great; they provide loads of nice soft stuff in big plastic boxes, so it is always clean and dry, but even so i like to take my own .. just in case.
and what about the moist stuff
camping can be a pain the a*se but not if i can help it :)
be kind to your bum is my favourite marketing slogan, even if the andrex puppy makes me squirm.
i am not alone! (nb: my cousins are scandinavian )
for festivals i wouldn't leave home without my hand sanitiser
Wouldn't be without it, mine is a more subtle grey.
Hangs up in the tent, next to the porta-loo. Kept in the back of the car for unforseen adventures, and can be carried to the camp-site loo without everyone knowing you are going for a dump
Makes note to self ..... I am not the only female who puts loo roll in a bag whereas guys seem to wave it in the air like they are informing everyone that they need a number 2 lol
and this is not because of any obnoxious gases which may be present.......
I am sure you will all be checking
So when men proudly flash the roll, they are merely showing their superiority by the fact that they are not afraid of the period of time when they will be unable to speak........
I'm for the carrier bag option for all toilet and shower kit - not bothered whether Tesco or Asda - or I suppose you could go posh with Waitrose. Much more practical than conventional sponge bags which just get soggy!
I use a Nike boot bag for taking my gear to the shower block. Our own toilet roll stays by the loo, and I use whatever the site provides in their loo's.
Although I like Triple Velvet when at home, when I'm at a campsite I don't mind "roughing it" so to speak. . . or should that be to wipe.
