hi hope that i can get some advice off you nice people. We had to take our montana 6 down in the rain, unfortunately due to being in hospital and very wet weather the inner tent had developed small mouldy patches. please can anyone suggest anything we have tried airing indoors but still get a smell. I dont have access to outdoor space and cant guarantee the weather ! Any advice would be very welcome
thank you

Do you have a friend that has a garage ? My friend Mrselvis had the same problem and I was happy let her hang her tent up in it to dry. Then when we had a dry day she came over and we put the foot print & ground sheets out. Spread them on the drive and hosed/washed/scrubbed and rinsed them and hung them to dry.OH put up a big long line in the garden to serve this purpose.Everything was then folded and put to bed for the winter.
If you were nearer I'd happly let you use my garage.

Hang it over the stairwell, over furniture in a spare room or somewhere like that.
Ours goes over an exercise bike and rocking chair lol
Open a window if you can to let fresh air in and it should be dry pretty fast.
I read on here somewhere that you can wash the inner using mild soapy water then rinse several times which should get rid of nasty smells but please check on previous posts before you try it in case I am wrong.

Ohh I wish....!
For inner tents only: Spread it out, treat the mouldly spots with Milton, diluted as per the bottle instructions, rinse well. ( Well= 5 or 6 times. ) Sponge with soapy water (SOAP, not detergent!!!) then rinse WELL again. You can do this in a paddling pool if the inner is huge. If it's small enough to fit in a washing machine then treat as above with Milton then wash at 30'C with non-bio detergent then run through a second rinse cycle.
Do not do the above to flysheets. For mouldy flysheets you need a proper tent cleaning product like Grangers, then you'll have to reproof the area with Fabsil or Thompsons Water Seal. There's a high chance though that the combination of mould plus treatment will damage the flysheet fabric to a greater or lesser extent (depends on age, quality and severity of mould/treatment) so really, it's best not to let tents get mouldy.
