Having plenty of headroom, (Monty 6), we now use two £18.00 Argos camp beds tie-wrapped together with a Coleman Double Comfort bed on top. Two home made folding headboards keep the pillows on. This gives us a load of storage beneath the beds and plenty of insulation from the floor.

You could try an Anywhere bed which can be found on Amazon or lakeland around  £100. It's just like what Sheve suggested but without the blue peter element! (We do the same as you Sheve, also have the coleman double comfort!!)
