*In theory* if it comes with a 12v car adapter then that would charge at pretty much the same speed as using the mains to charge it...... *in theory* anyway.

Lidl have specials on that only last a few days or a week - they're probably sold out now and so the link isn't valid...

mine has ben on for about 4 hours now and although it is still giving off a fair amount of light it is no longer blinding me. i would agree with mr shankley and exzpect about 3-4 hours of very bright light before i might want to recharge. Since i only use it for a max of 1 hour every night at camping when getting ready for bed or reading, I doubt over the course of a 2-3 night's camping trip I would ever have to recharge it. I think it is a good bit of kit that does the job well. Especially pleased that i won't have to keep buying batteries for it.

If anyone with one of these is feeling generous could they please test it in the car adapter to see if the red charging light comes on (as it does in the house when charging) as mine doesn't.Thanks
this might be a car issue, nothing wrong with your light. In most cars the front 12v socket only supplies power when the engine is running, it certainly does in my car and also my friends car. Plug it in with the engine off and you get no red light, switch engine on, or even just half turn the key and the light comes on. However we have a citreon berlingo which has two additional 12v sockets in the bulkhead compartments in the rear of the car. These sockets will supply power whether the engine is on or off, so we always use those sockets for powering camping gadgets from the car. Try turning the engine on to see if it works. I have just checked and the light only comes on if engine is on or plugged into back sockets.

Thanks tin pockets but mine doesn't come on at all. It will have to be returned which is a pity as its a great light otherwise but no use if it can't be charged on site.
