Put a ampmetre across the terminals while its outside this will show a reading.
If you put an ammeter across the terminals you will short circuit the battery and charger. An ammeter has to be fitted in series between the battery and the charger.
it is only 2.4 watt which is less than a 1/4 of a milli amp which might just light a small LED bulb, if you have a 85 amp battery and had 12 hours of sunlight a day it would take about 36 days to charge it

If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.

I'd be looking at something in the region of 15-20 watts.
That should see you through a weekend no probs.
Most of the briefcase ones would be perfectly adequate for your needs.
Thanks for the replies, sorry I was slow to get back. I have checked it with a multimeter and its working fine.
To clarify, I bought it just to keep the battery topped up between use as I have a mover attached and no leccy where I store. At £14 it was alot cheaper than a mains charger and I do not need to remove the battery.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
