When your looking around B&Q in the cable area you may notice a couple of products with the manufacturers name of master plus. They have the same plusg as you find on ehu stuff. (the blue round plugs) and they are a lot cheaper than bonafide ehu products.
On the fonr of the packaging its very clearly marked "Idea for camping". On the back of the pakaging are extra notes one of which says "not sutiable for wet weather".
Talk about a contractory statement! Camping and wet eather in the UK often go together! lol
I called them and explained the contradiction and they said what it really means is only use it in sunny dry weather.
Just a heads up in case you see the bargain price but not the notes on the back.
Loads of potentially dangerous stuff out there, especially on E Bay. Lots of contractors stuff has the blue round plugs but are really only for indoors. Use only purpose made gear for camping with circuit breakers & an RCD. Sockets should have some sort of cover to prevent water ingress, & even then they should not be used when conditions are wet (flooding in the tent, high condensation levels or outdoors when raining).
Our Blue round EHU plugs and sockets are only IP44 rated, that is they are splash proof only.
They are not weather or waterproof.
B&Qs comment that they are not suitable for wet weather is sound advice and is just as applicable to those purchased from any supplier.
The proper advice for them all is that they should be off the ground so they don't lay in water.
Also make sure that the lead runs down from the plug or socket so the water is not taken by the cable into the unit. This is particularly relevant where you use those short adaptor leads for French EHU outlets; there its all too easy to let the connector hang down.
I have just looked at their website and the only blue commando sockets I could see are IP44 rated, as JPQU has said these are splashproof the same as the ones on bonafide EHU's.If you want waterproof then you need IP67 rated plugs and sockets, which are not cheap!

Good advice JTQU
How often have we seen extension cables joints just lying flat on the ground.
