ThermaChef = Cat among pigeons! Anybody got one?
I'd like to hear if anyone has used one too. It doesn't seem to mention heat up times, or cooking times on the product info. If you are heating it on a little camping hob, it might not heat up well? Could be one of those sounds good, but rubbish in reality things!

I've just bought a Remoska for home and so far I'm impressed with it BUT I want to retain the flexibility of non EHU sites and pitches so it's not likely to come camping with us. .....
Spooky! I bought a Remoska quite recently and am using it quite a lot. In fact, I don't think I've switched the main oven on since I've had it. So a general thumbs up for use in the home.
But quite apart from the 'tied to ehu' issue there are two other drawbacks to the Remoska for camping or caravanning use I think. One, it is an awkward shape for storage and transport. Two, you need somewhere safe to put the (very hot) lid down out of the way when you've finished cooking, and that might not be easy when you're out and about.
I've been coveting one for ages and finally ordered last week as I think it'll be useful for my weekdays in the shared house.
You're right about the heat though, I felt obliged to touch the lid to see how hot it really was - after all how hot could it be IMG]forum_images/smiley36.gif[/IMG] err yeah, that hot!
Cobb are doing a demo at a food fair this weekend in Bedfordshire. I'm going to go and see it in action. I have a feeling that my debit card might get a bit twitchy. Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread and Angelic Minx is more than welcome to say hello and I'll chuck something together for an afternoon of merriment.

Personaly i cant get my head around wanting to create gourmet-esque meals while camping. Surely, folk dont 'get away from it all', only to be stuck beind a stove in a tent/van do they?
Erm some people like cooking and don't get time to cook other than when they are on holiday?
I love cooking, especially outside when on holiday, gives me a variation on a theme from cooking in my kitchen.
------------- Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Cobb bought and begging to be tried out! If anyone sees me spending so much as one pence over a fiver, in one transaction, for the rest of the season, you have my permission to slap the back of my legs with a hairbrush!
Not brilliant Between you, me and the yellow background, I think I'd already made my mind up! Not cheap at all though but gives me loads of options which is what I'd set out to achieve.
Its on the gadget show next week, Monday I think, channel 5?
I went for the whole kit and kaboodle (?) which included all the different plates, lighter, thermometer, firelighters, cobblestones, woodchip, recipe book and carry case. Forked out £170, gulp The tight bloke on the stand wouldn't throw in the little metal pot for the chips and his best offer was to reduce it from £12 to £10. I walked away and left him to it.
It does look like a proper piece of kit though. It appears very well made and simple to use, especially with the Cobblestone briquette thingies, making it ready to use in 5 minutes flat, apparently.
All my camping mates know this as "The Yellow Site" so I shan't add to any confusion by making it the purple site!
So Surfspud, if you want a spud by the surf let me know.
