OH is wanting to visit the new Go Outdoors in Stockton but it is about an 90 mile round trip - has anyone been and is it worth a look - not that we are needing too much mainly a new folding table and EHU.
Doesn't warrant a90mile round trip. There prices are expensive even with the "discount card" which you have to pay £4 for and receive 10% of original price. They do a price match thing where they will match a competitors price less 10% with proof. However we tried it with th cadac paella pan which they had for 44.50 way more expensive than towsure. Explained to them and the chappie who checked said theres was a 47cm 1 and towsures was 46cm. When you go on the actual cadac site there is only 1 paella tin. So you have to be very exact.
I would say most things are cheaper online even with delivery.
Would united british caravns not be closer for you at Wideopen I find them reasonable and a good variety of stuff.
hi jeff. there is a caravan place in birtley. right next to the motorway. they sell a fair bit of camping gear. sorry. cant remember the name. but may be worth a look there.lots of caravans and motor homes. good shop for things. and some were cheaper than i expected.
It used to be Tyneside caravans. It is now called Discover. There is also United British Caravans in Gosforth - just off the Tyne Tunnel road. Also Camping on Tyne near Hexham.
Thank you all very much for your responses - saves me the trip.
We have been to United British in Gosforth and bought a few bits and bobs, we have also been to the Outdoor Superstore or something like that in Spennymoor which we found them to be a lot more expensive than United British. I will take her to Discover leisure store which is not too far for me, I am sure the OH just thinks that she is missing out on something!!
hi notice that you are looking for a new table I have just bought the Coleman packaway table and benches for £59.99 (cheapest by miles) from outdoormania.co.uk the benches are really sturdy, padded with a lovely table all folding into a neat bag/case much better than our blue foldaway plastic jobby. There is a link on my blog about this
I have had a look round and while there will always be loss leaders to bring the customers in, I too felt it was expensive. Quite a few tents set up upstairs that are worth a browse.
I wouldn't travel too far to see it but worth a look if you are in the area.

Is United British Caravans the one on Sandy Lane?
If it is, I was there last week. They now have their tent display up. Huge range, although no Outwell.

Whereabouts in Spennymoor is that, I live there and haven't heard of it.
