Just got back from our first summer camping trip where we treated ourselved to electric hook up. We decided that we really should have some sort of electric light so we can enjoy our free time once kids in bed. Now my question is this: we have a Sunncamp APS 3006+ and there are no internal poles, so how would we fix up an electric light? Silly question I am sure but any tips welcome!!
You don`t have an integral groundsheet, do you? If not, can you take a spare pole...a metal one, like you would use to pole out an awning, but shorter, and hammer it in somewhere there is a gap in the groundsheet cover? Then you could clip the EHU to it, and the light on top.
My Litchfield has no internal poles, btw, but I know that there is a loop or something at the apex of the dome because I hang our battery light there. I just can`t visualise exactly what the loop is really for though! Most annoying.
We use an aluminium roll up table and found that the hook up clips easily onto one of the legs which keeps it off the ground, and then we put a small table lamp and the kettle on the table, works well for use. This means your not putting any extra weight on the seams of your tent.

Naah...thats FAR too simple an explaination, Dave. Tent manufacturers are devious folk...it`s probably a lightning loop or some sort of cunning storm guy.
We have no internal poles either. We just take a small table lamp, we can move it around to where we want and use it outside too. The loop in the middle of the tent is no use for an electric light as you would have the cable hanging down in the middle of your tent.
i use my loop in top of tent for hanging my fly and bug killer thingy, little white plastic thing,with yellow jelly inside.buy from most super markets..
We stumbled across a different lighting solution last weekend.
In an attempt to find a reasonable light source, we had bought the combined torch, fluorescent light on sale in Homebasee for about £5. it looks like a cross between a torch and a hand phaser! with a flick out wand housing the fluorescent light.
Then in another fit of cash-haemorrhage, I picked up a set of plastic shelves from B&Q, the sort that just push together, just to get some of the stuff in the tent out of the way.
By accident, we discovered that having the torch sat on it's face (as if to use the tube light), on top of the plastic shelves - but with the torch turned on - fantastic diffuse lighting.
We use our car inspection lamp. It has a hook type thing that we hang in the centre where the storm pole goes. Also have a clip on light from the poundshop and move this around especially when cooking. Our dome had a fabric loop in the middle which I assumed was to hang a light. Hubby used to sleep under it and one night in a very bad storm it started swinging and creaking. It was like being on a boat. We were both awake but would not get out of our sleeping bags to take it down.Happy to report that it did not fall, bit scarey though.
